Rekapitulasi Kinerja Lembaga Konservasi BEMP Sepanjang Tahun 2021
DENPASAR, BALI (15 Desember 2021) – Bali Exotic Marine Park (BEMP) proudly presents the recap of our significant conservation achievements throughout the year 2021. Despite the ongoing challenges posed by the global pandemic, BEMP remains steadfast in its commitment to marine life conservation and public awareness.
Throughout 2021, BEMP undertook the challenging task of evacuating seven bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops aduncus) from a facility operating without the necessary permits. This critical operation was conducted in collaboration with BKSDA (Natural Resources Conservation Center) Bali and other dedicated conservation groups. The successful evacuation ensures that these dolphins are now in a safe and regulated environment where their welfare can be properly managed.
In addition to the dolphin evacuation, our rescue team conducted multiple rescue operations for various marine species, including melon-headed whales (Peponocephala electra) and different types of dolphins. These operations often involved extensive medical care and rehabilitation efforts to ensure the animals’ well-being before their release back into the ocean.

As part of our ongoing commitment to sea turtle conservation, BEMP organized the release of hundreds of turtle hatchlings (tukik) and green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas). One of the notable events was the release of green sea turtles at Perancak Beach, Jembrana. This initiative is part of our broader strategy to support the survival and growth of endangered marine species in their natural habitat.
Additionally, BEMP hosted several beach clean-up events throughout the year, engaging local communities and volunteers in efforts to keep our coastlines pristine. These activities not only help maintain the health of marine ecosystems but also foster a sense of environmental stewardship among participants.
“We are incredibly proud of our conservation efforts in 2021 and the collaborative spirit shown by our team, volunteers, and partner organizations,” said Adi Setiawan, General’s Manager at BEMP. “These activities are essential in ensuring the sustainability of marine life and habitats, and we remain dedicated to our mission of conservation and education.”
BEMP looks forward to continuing its conservation work in 2022, with new initiatives and collaborations aimed at protecting Indonesia’s rich marine biodiversity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who supported and participated in our programs this past year.
