Still in Bali, I found a new experience and new friends in Dolphin in Bali. This time I had the opportunity to stop by one of the interesting and new places in Bali. Coincidentally, there was a friend who worked there, actually my presence this time just wanted to look around and accompany my new friend to work and help him a little.
I was quite interested because his job was a Dolphin trainer/instructor at that place, my visiting hours this time were in the afternoon when the Dolphins were having their afternoon meal. Mural
Bali Exotic Marine Park, for those who don’t know this new place in Bali, was first opened and inaugurated on September 19, 2019 by Mr. Ir. Wiratno, M.Sc. (Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation) of Indonesia.
Bali Exotic Marine Park is not only a place for dolphin attractions but also a conservation center, such as providing care, protection, and security for dolphins in Bali.
Jump!
All the dolphins here come from securing injured dolphins, one of which is a confiscated dolphin, some are also moved from a display place that is now closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Bali Exotic Marine Park is trusted by the BKSDA (Natural Resources Conservation Agency) to handle all rescue (security), recovery, preservation and research of these smart animals.
Where, even though there is still an outbreak, some animals here are still cared for properly, for example, they are fed fresh fish, there are special veterinarians who supervise them 24 hours a day, so the dolphins here are not exploited as we think. Learn to Relate to Dolphins
Oh yes, in this place there are 5 male dolphins with an age range of 10-12 years, their names are Arafik, Leo, Suares, Simba and Lemon. Here I had the opportunity to feed some dolphins and show off their intelligence while learning a lot about these intelligent mammals.
The dolphins in Bali Exotic Marine Park are all healthy, as seen from their super active movements, their bigger eyes, not overweight and not thin, and clean. Of course, these dolphins are well cared for by several professional people.
There is some good evidence that I got when I visited here, one of which is that dolphins actually have an identity in the form of lines on the upper fins (dorsal) which are different from humans who have fingerprints, oh yeah apparently dolphins don’t breathe underwater, the problem is they are mammals, they suck air into their lungs, like humans.
So dolphins breathe through the nostrils located on top of their heads, which are called spray holes. So it is natural that they are often seen above because they don’t swim very deep, they live in almost all oceans especially tropical areas.
Other evidence says that some scientists now believe that dolphins are mammals that are almost as intelligent as humans in certain ways. (If they could talk and have hands, they might have made sophisticated technology). Even the news is that the size of the dolphin’s brain is bigger and more complex than the human brain.
One more interesting thing, if in fact dolphins are good animals and like to help. Often a number of these dolphins help to do special therapy for children with special needs. Anyone can get this fascinating experience, but must register first.
How interesting is not my short experience stopping by Bali Exotic Marine Park, for those of you who want to know, you can also stop by at Jalan Dermaga Benoa, No. 7, Pesangoran Benoa, Bali. You can also play, learn and swim with them who are of course accompanied by professional officers.
Here, various facilities are equipped such as a restaurant with a casual model, souvenir shop, therapy center and other public facilities. Come on, love mammals like dolphins and preserve them! I believe anyone who meets them will be happy.
